Expat Networking in Spain – Internations Granada & Almeria

Expat Networking in Spain – Internations Granada & Almeria

Moving abroad can sometimes challenge us in different ways.

I find it comforting to know that once in a while I can meet up with people like me who took the plunge and moved away from their home country.

The Internations organisation is a good way to meet up with like minded folk in your corner of the world. In Spain there are many groups all across the country. I know the Granada and Almeria groups well as I help with the organisation of these meetings as a volunteer.

Internations Granada

Internations Granada

In Granada the group is growing each month. The members who come along are often new to the area as well as familiar faces who come back each month. In Granada city the meetings are usually once a month, on a Thursday or Friday evening.

Why not come along and join in the fun!

To get the event details of the next meet up, you can sign up for free at Internations.Org

The venues change but some of our previous venues for Internations meetings are:

  • Restaurante La Platea (opposite Forum building) Calle Jose Perez Pujadas, Granada
  • Panoramic 360 7th floor of Forum building, Calle Jose Perez Pujadas, Granada

In Granada the meetings are informal gatherings with a few beers and tapas. (see photos above)

Over the 2 years that I have been going along I have met people from almost all the countries in the world.

It can be surprising the mix of people who come along each time.

Internations Almeria

In April 2014 a new group was created for Almeria residents. They have their next next on May Day weekend on the beach with friends. It will be on Zapillo beach.

If you live in another area of Spain (or the world) there is probably an Internations community in your area.

You maybe surprised!

  1. Sarah Lawlor says:

Internations for Almeria won’t open for me (website being worked on?). I am a newbie in Almeria, moved from Ireland with my partner over 3 weeks ago. Would love to connect with some locals who’ve been through it all and still standing!
    Thanks. Sarah.

    • Molly says:

      Hello Sarah

Almeria doesnt have an Internations group. The Almeria activities are part of the Granada group. If you want to join the Granada internations site you will see the updated for the Almeria events. I believe that they were running events in Late spring and summertime.
      I hope this helps

      Kind regards
      Molly

  2. Conrad Fowler says:

Since arriving in Granada I’ve found InterNations to be a fantastic way to meet a like minded and very diverse group of people, not only for the network of friends but also from a business perspective the opportunity for networking has been invaluable- thanks Molly for all your efforts in making the group such a success!

    • Molly says:

Already looking forward to the next one in Granada on 16th May! Thanks Conrad

      • Citytrip Granada says:

A newbie question; i have to sign up to the InterNations website in roder to know the location for the next meetingpoint?

        • Molly says:
